I love the idea of this. The questions relate to a lot of information everyone should know so you don't feel as tho you're wasting time on frivolous information. I haven't had a chance to use it with my grandchildren yet, but think they will find it challenging. I have a big complaint, however . Every other question is written in white ink on a pale gray background. It is not easy to read. The other questions/answers are written in white on dark gray background, which is not so difficult to read. The surface is slick so you have to tilt the brainquest questions somewhat to diminish glare of light so they can be read. I threw the packaging away before I examined these closely. Otherwise, I would have returned them. I just don't like to have to struggle to make out the questions to a simple little exercise.

I am going through the Questions and Answers and will be using them at an Assisted Living location where I hold a weekly Trivial Pursuit meeting. When I told them there would be 6th (and 7th) Grade questions/answers, they were a little apprehensive -- for good reason, I might add. A number of the Q&As had me stumped! That's good!!

My kids have loved all of the Brain Quest quiz books. This one doesn't disappoint as well. Fun to do around the dinner table or in the car on a road trip. We like to make it game and see who gets stumped. Fun facts that all can enjoy!

Had these when I was a kid and destroyed them from playing too much! Great for car rides, trivia nights, and random bouts of grab the quest and ask me questions times! Great for kids and adults. Bought 5th grade and 6th, wish they made ones all through high school levels too

These are really awesome trivia cards. They are easy to use and have a huge variety of questions. Some of the questions made me feel really smart and others made me feel really dumb. But, their true testament is that my daughter was really happy to get them and picked them up after I put them down to read some more. Highly recommend Brain Quest stuff.

Joan Pagano's book is a must for any one who exercises and wants to stay in shape. Her advice is sound and practical. Anyone could do the exercises in her book. I bought it after hearing her as a guest on Doctor Radio. Even advanced exercisers can find something in this book. I highly recommend this book if you are just starting out with strength training or recovering from an injury.

I love this book! I first checked it out at the library and then had to get my own copy. Lots of exercises for strength building that can be done either at home or in the gym. Easy to explain pictures. Exercises for every part of the body. Highly recommended.

This is a very well written book, very informative and full of tips with each exercise. I frequently use this book when working out at home, paying attention to the section that focuses on the core. This book is well worth the purchase.

I love Tim Green as an author and decided to read "The Big Time" for that reason alone. I'm not a teen/young adult but I think this sould be required reading in middle school, as the author lived up the to quality of his previous works.Let me step up on my soapbox to say that we're become a society who worships wealth and celebrity above all things, much to our detriment. This book is a primer for any child and/or parent with concerns about how success can change your life, not always for the better, and that sometimes it's not only your enemies that you need to keep closer. Step down. Enjoy!

My one year old loves this book. It's one of the few I don't mind reading over and over. The words flow very well and are both simple and descriptive. We get to see how children in a South African slum go about their day. They are waiting for their fathers to come home from the mines. It's really a very joyful book. There aren't very many children's books out there that show real poverty, but this book does it without reducing the characters to their poverty. The children find ways to amuse themselves while they wait and the people around them are kind and helpful.The only thing I didn't like about the book was that it's hard to tell the children apart page by page. I understand this was hard to do with the impressionistic style of watercolor, and perhaps it's worth the trade off. Still it kept me from relating to the children as individuals (the book is written from the perspective of "we").

I have used this book in tutoring a third grade child who has an unidentified learning disability with a significant reading delay. She is very engrossed in the story and enjoys the painted illustrations. We spend as much time as she wants on each page - each time she reads it she discovers something else about the story that she likes. Meanwhile, it gives me a venue to work on her word recognition and sounding out words and fluency skills. I watched my student gain self-confidence and a joy of discovery in reading through this book.

This book is beautiful touching story of childhood longing.Six children wait for their fathers to come home after ten months away working in the mines.We start their day with them as they wake in anxious anticipation. We follow them through their day with descriptive prose and amazing illustrations as they dress, go to school, make music and celebrate and wait and wait and wait.They will not go home until their fathers arrive. The wait is longer than expected but the excitement remains high throughout this book until the beautiful end.

At the Crossroads by Rachel Isadora is a made-up story. It is about kids waiting for their fathers to come home. They waited a long time. I think that this story is really cool and that other kids will like it. I liked the pictures a lot, except the one where the moon was orange.

This book is wrong on so many different levels, I will start with the picture of a nude boy holding nothing but a towel over his private parts. If I were to put a picture like that on the internet I would probably be arrested for Child pornography. Yet this is deemed appropriate for children 4-8 years old??? What kind of bizarre world do we live in #commonsense #idiocracy #commoncore

Rachel Isadora writes such wonderful stories And this one is another winner! Sweet story of children waiting for their fathers to return home (the fathers have been gone for 10 months working in the mines.). Watercolor illustrations are beautiful! If you have read Caribbean Dream, you may recognize some of the children! Little cuties!

I was married to a Persian man from Isfahan for five years. He was a Fabulous cook and taught me how to cook his delicate, wonderful food. This cookbook is one of the best ones I've seen that corresponds closely to what I learned. The only difference is my husband didn't cook with cinnamon, except occasionally. Nor did we use much saffron, which may have been due to the cost as we were students. We also didn't use a tortilla on the bottom of rice but used thinly sliced potatoes or just left the rice on the bottom of the pan for tahdig, which gives a crunchy rice. Everybody wants the rice from the bottom of the pan!We did have a massive crowd for dinner every night, or we were at his friends houses with a huge group of people. Very fun. The Persians are huge with gatherings of family and friends.I'm thrilled to see the good kooku and drink recipes, as I didn't learn as much as I would have liked.Anyway, this is a wonderful book. The beet with yogurt is superb.

I'm a Persian and I'm a terrible cook! But this book is so wonderfully written that even I was successful making dishes from it. The recipes are step by step and easy to follow. And the language is very friendly with a touch of personal stories here and there which makes it more relate-able. (nothing like those fancy cookbooks that makes you feel like you're working on a NASA project!) The other thing I liked about the book was the detailed information on Persian cuisine and the ingredients which would be very helpful for people that don't know much about it.Overall I strongly recommend this book for someone who's interested in Persian cooking as well as people like me who might be more talented in eating the food rather than making it! ;)

As an Iranian living in the US, I loved everything about this Persian cookbook. I just simply loved the fresh smell of Persian food filling up my kitchen (recipes I found in the book), reminding me of my mom's kitchen. This book includes every recipe you can think of; even some dishes I always thought my mom made up, which made me realize those were actually part of the Persian cuisine. There were dishes I always cooked and thought there is something missing, going through this book I got to learn all the tricks and steps I was missing. So thank you Shadi for this amazing book. Loved all the stories in conjunction with the recipes.

I was so excited to find this book. In my younger years I lived in Tehran,Iran with my son and husband for one year ( 1973). Being a foodie I got the chance to taste some of the best food I've ever experienced. I was particularly excited to see that rice dish, with crispy potato wedges on the bottom of the pan. Soooo good.For years I've tried to recreate some on those great Iranian flavors and finally I've found a book with many of the recipes I remember. Yes this is very similar to the way they ate while was there in 1973! Thanks for adding this book to my valued collection.

I love this book. My best friends as a child were Lebanese, my best friend in high school was Persian, and one of my closest friends now is part Saudi/Egyptian. Needless to say, despite not having a drop of Middle Eastern blood in me, Middle Eastern cuisine has dotted my history and I'm particularly fond of it. And because I don't like very pungent flavors (no garlic overload for me, please), I don't like overly sweet or fruity dishes (sorry, Morocco), and I prefer fragrant, elegant food, Persian food has always stood out to me as my favorite Middle Eastern style of cooking. The problem with previous cookbooks were that they were more fun to look at than actually use, because the recipes were too involved. Shadi's cookbook solves that problem for me. Each recipe is something that any home cook can make, and I love that she includes Persian drinks and snacks! I also love the personal anecdotes about growing up in a Persian family and the background info on the recipes. The recipes are enchantingly easy, but the book itself is enchanting, as well!

Bought this book for a friend who is interested in persian cuisine. But I was somewhat disappointed since the book doesnâ€™t have photos to the foods, which means unless youâ€™re familiar with the dish, you have no idea what the final dish is gonna look like.But then again I only paid 15$ for it, so I canâ€™t expect much.

This book is simply amazing. Collecting several main signatures dishes from Iran and simplified recepies. I do cook persian dishes often, but following Shadi's recepies it feels like She is hosting me with with her kitchen majic! Very tasty! whether dinner, lunch or breakfast this book covers your cravings:)Pics are for her Nargesi and Loobia PoloPages 53 and 165

I can find almost everything I would need to cook everything in this book once I purchased a few items from an online ethnic source pomegranate molasses ( which can be made at home from pomegranate juice), Barberries dried, rose water, dried rose petals, dried pomegranate seeds, and you could cook nearly everything.

I really like most of the patterns. Unfortunately a lot of them have a lot of detail and difficult for a beginner like me. I have a tremor in my hand and have started coloring as an exercise my hand and get some control of the movement in my hand. I hope that some day I will be able to color the patterns in this book because I really like them.

I managed to gain some insight to the topic of women leading in the church, however most of these authors told more about their experience of change and not the convincing proof that led them there. Granted some did share this info but not many.In addition, many used arguments based on what they FEEL is right rather than scriptural support. I am, however, grateful to those who did use scripture without conjecture to the meaning.

I found this book because it came up in a search on Dallas Willard's name. And I read the various chapters of the book, without reading the intro. While each chapter / individual's story was helpful... I have to admit, I kept looking forward to the next chapter hoping it would be written by Mr. Willard (somehow I missed that he had written the foreword). Finishing up the book (having taken a long time to get through it - there's lots of research and thought-provoking insight that takes a while to "digest") I was sad to not have run into Dallas Willard's name and I flipped back to the Table of Contents to discover he wrote the foreword. Having read Dallas' authentic foreword at the end, after digesting everyone's thoughtful stories, really drove it home for me... it was like he was standingbehind each of the contributors applauding their life-altering journey...Thank you, to each contributor, for sharing your journey with the reader. Thank you to the local pastors and church leadership who fielded my calls and visits as I read through this book.As a woman who wouldn't consider herself a crusader for women's rights I was pleased to see Jesus' example as we read encouters of Himinteracting with women. Being Jesus, He dared to stand out from the norm. And the norm at the time was to shun women, or keep them quiet. He dared to live a different example. Kudos to the Christian leaders who are modern day examples of Jesus Christ on this topic.

Although many scriptures are given, the focus of this book is in how the issue of hierarchy, headship, and the ordination of women, has affected various servants of God in 17 chapters, some couples, some individuals. In their openness, they are living epistles. The premise in their stories is not to prove themselves â€˜rightâ€™ but to share openly, and honesty, giving us much food for thought. All are deep thinkers, changes happened over years and experiences in a way we can all recognize; there is no denying the genuine moving of the Spirit of God in their lives. Many other works are cited for further research on these very complex issues.

This book has been mindblowing. If I had read it a few years ago, I would have changed my own mind much sooner. Many of the stories parallel my own journey in some ways, and others give me new ideas and perspectives. I can't describe how much this book resonates with my heart. I wish every Christian would read this--even if they don't change their minds, at least to understand.

I could not put this book down. It was really a great resource for me. I really never worried too much about the issue of Women in ministry until very recently because in my own experience I never let anyone tell me that I could not teach God's people because I am a woman.Really worth reading it!

This book was like a draught of cool water on a scorching day, a balm to my soul. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is seeking the heart of God around women leadership. For someone who was convicted of the priesthood of all believers and yet found myself humbly questioning my church's male-only elders stance without huge scriptural backing, this book has comforted, restored and equipped me. Very good information and response letter examples to respond back to creditors. I wish I knew this information 6 months ago. Would have saved me $1000.00. As it is, I was able to respond using one of the format letters tailored to my situation to stop debt collectors from expecting payment on another bill that I knew was written off 5 years ago by the hospital. Since the hospital failed to submit the claim to my insurance on time they were unable to collect from me but they still sold it to debt collectors! The book helped with checking statute of limitations for it.

The book was truly amazing, easy to read. The material that Netiva provided in the book is beneficial, along with resourceful for any person that needs aasistance with collection agency. The book is a must buy, you can also go back and read it again, when ever you might get into a situation. Netiva's book personal helped me out with a collection agency, I am thankful to her and blessed for the knowledge she provide the readers. The description of this map says that it covers Tucson and the surrounding areas and that is incorrect. It stops before the Catalina Foothills area and the Oro Valley. It also doesn't even completely show the Tucson International Airport. I bought this map because we are moving to Tucson and I wanted to get a feel for where everything is visually. We have GPS so we won't be using it to navigate. The Catalina Foothills school district is the best in Tucson and one of the best in the state and it's not even included on the map. If you look on the map for one of Tucson's most famous resorts - Ventana Canyon- you won't find it either because it stops south of it. You also won't find the Saguaro National Park. If you want a map of downtown Tucson and nothing else, this map is fine. But, if you want the northern or southern suburbs or the resorts in the foothills, don't buy this map.
