The artwork in the deluxe edition is amazing and this is my favorite series. Good price too and speed of delivery.

I take my time reading Fables, its my favourite series. It should never end. I never know what Mr. Willingham is going to come up with next.

I sort of lost interest in the series when i got to this point. The binding in these books is bearable but kind of strained, like its too tight in the middle and sometimes cuts off some images. But otherwise very good.

I'm a new Fables reader, but I was hooked from trade 1, and have been climbing the rungs of Willingham's Fables ever since. I was kind of curious how they'd keep me ravenous and eager for more after the unveiling of The Adversary, but Willingham is still barreling forward with a full head of steam, and I can't wait for them to release the next Deluxe Edition.As an aside, I was lucky enough to get that first trade signed at Baltimore Comic Con, and Bill Willingham was gracious and friendly. That attitude just adds to the overall attraction of his stories.

Kinuko Y Craft is one of the truly great illustrators, right up there with Edmund Dulac, Maxfield Parrish, and Arthur Rackham. She has conjured women into heroic fantasy via illustrations for decades, winning numerous awards. What makes her paintings so special, besides the luminous quality of her artwork, is the sheer wealth of detail she invests in her backgrounds. You can spend hours studying some of the images, discovering mysteries and revelations in the margins. The best illustrations are like Jungian dreams come to life.When I met Craft at the World Fantasy Convention last year, where she was a guest of honor, I asked her to sign the pages of my calendar so I could give the pictures as gifts to my students.

The art in this calendar is incredibly detailed -- the more you look at each page, the more detail you'll see. Even the frames around each image are decorative! The paper is nice and heavy, and so far it's held up to being removed a few times from its hook so I can add appointments to it. If it's available again next year, I think I'll get another by this same artist.

This series is one of my favorites. As a feminist, I very much admire strong women and find them especially inspiring after a stressful day.

I had the 2015 and 2016 editions of this artist's calendar as well. And why not have something unique and mysterious hanging on my wall or fridge to mark the months of the year.

Beautiful - as one expects from this artist. I have purchased every children's book she illustrated - love her illustrations!

Very pleased. The colors and scenes are pretty. I enjoy having some magic in my life to take me away and this calendar is a "feel good" calendar. A nice treat for myself and my wall.

Would that scenario even be plausible to any but the most rabid, fact-free Men's Rights Activists (who are convinced this is going on all the time, but only because the LAW requires their sacrifices! Woez!)?Or- even better- how about if the tree and the kid were both female, or both male? Would this look anything LIKE a healthy, wholesome relationship? -This is probably the most telling, because it gets sex-roles, gender-roles and essentialism totally out of the picture, leaving only individuals in a perversely co-dependent (Wikipedia says S/M, but I disagree) relationship.But! The crappy messages are hidden because of the sex-essentialist writing of the original. This means that boys- it's a kids' book, after all- are being encouraged to be pushy, even when they know it will be devastating to the female ("Hey, she could always say NO!"), and girls are encouraged to sacrifice literally ALL to a male who clearly does not have her best interests at heart- or even under random consideration.It is a formula to make Good Girls who acquiesce to every damn thing Teh Menz or Teh Boyz or Teh Authoritiez "ask" of them, and gives utterly NO grounds to say "Hell, no!" Because Good Females don't DO that.I never even let my daughter take this one out of the library when she was a kid. Although, if I were doing it now I might... but I'd genderbend it and have a discussion.

I have always loved this story. With the adult coloring craze still going on and storybook coloring books becoming a big deal I decided to pick up a copy of The Giving Tree that I would color to give to my kids and future grandkids. This edition is perfect for that purpose.

I bought this book to read to my kids. I honestly had never fully read it before but I had read the reviews and thought I would give it a shot. It arrived on time and in good condition. The copy I had received was the 50th-anniversary edition. Beautiful hardcover, with a glossy dust jacket that makes the book stand out. Before reading this book to my kids, I read it out loud for my husband to hear it as well. It is both a sweet and sad story. There are so many ways a person can view this story and I was worried that it would go over my kids head but as I was reading it, especially around the parts where the boy got older and only kept coming back whenever he wanted or needed something, I could hear my daughter feeling sad for the tree. She had asked, "Why doesn't he want to play with the tree?" Needless to say, it was a good teachable moment about giving and taking or giving and not expecting anything in return and so on. I am very glad I purchased this book.

I read this a few decades ago. It was good to read it again. The book mostly speaks to the heart of the Christian worker, lay and clergy, but it does offer some timeless insight into church growth methodology as well. Spurgeon "being dead, yet speaketh, offering much needed rebuke and encouragement to the modern minister.

This book is a must read. I brought it originally as a E-book but I'm buying this in an actual book form as I find that this is a invaluable resource to have and I plan on reading it again. Spurgeon speaks truth boldly and unashamedly. I found this to be of such encouragement and found within its pages ideas to implement, things to ponder, rebuke where needed. Truly found that this is a book about the heartbeat behind evangelism.
