As a seasoned "shade tree mechanic" there is not much that is outside my comfort zone provided I have the right tool or lift to work on a car or motorcycle. Well, ok, wiring is my Achille's heel. This book lays it out clearly and I'm pleased I purchased the e-book. About to get wrenching on an older Volvo 240 so that is where the rubber hits the road for me with my next wiring project. (Wish me luck!!)

This is a fantastic book, and Tony Candela really knows how to put things in plain English. A couple of points I'd like to make:#1: The book left you wanting more...more projects, more information...just...more. Which he is happy to give everyone - in the second book of this series...(sigh)#2: Relays...they're important...they're awesome...they're the most important thing on the planet as far as Tony is concerned and when I finally learned about them, I couldn't agree more. However, for something so critically important...I felt his explanation of what the relay's job was lacked a bit of detail...maybe it was me, maybe I didn't read it well and I should go back and re-read it a couple more times...but...That being said, I read his book cover to cover and still felt I didn't quite "get" relays. One technical writeup I found online later, and I fully understood relays, how they worked, what they did and why they are just so gosh darned important in cars!So, long and short - it's a great book, if you're like me, be prepared to look up relays online and get the real scoop...and be prepared to shell out another wad of cash for the second book that walks you through more projects and gets you a lot more hands-on.

Probably not a great book if you know what you are doing. I know cars inside and out, and have even rebuilt differentials and two engines. I don't know squat about wiring and electrical, however. Going back to square one for me was tough to do, ego-wise, but my more or less thorough automotive education has large holes that need to be filled. I am used to working out of manuals and such that are very tech oriented, but I knew zip about the tools and terms used for electrical work. This book got me up to speed enough to allow me to continue self teaching with more advanced manuals. I now understand most of the basics and am no longer reluctant to work on my aging wiring harnesses and connectors. Not a bad purchase at full price, but as a Kindle book it was a steal. At this price, if you do not like it you are not out very much. I though it was very useful and now have a much more evenly balanced skill set.

I got tired of always going to the internet to look up quick information on a job I’m doing and finding multiple different answers to my one question. So I’m buying books from now on! This book has loads of information in it, and is great reference material for automotive electronics. It covers electronics principle, splicing procedures and configurations, recommended tools to use, the do’s and don’ts of automotive wiring, and covers many other things you might find in your vehicle. Like I said this is great reference material that is full of step by step procedures on troubleshooting as well as adding to the circuitry of your car I.e effectively using a digital multimeter to your advantage. Buy it

To be frank, with the internet i look to guides like these with some hesitation. I was pleasantly surprised at both the quality and how the content was soo well constructed and practical for my projects - very impressed.the internet would surely have the information in this book, but the cadence and step by step walkthrough and priceless, this is great for those venturing into 12v wiring and well worth the investment.

I am in the process of restoring a 45 year old car with atrocious wiring. After looking at the burnt wiring and tangled mess under the dash I went looking for a book that would help me figure out how to rewire the car. I ultimately purchased four books on automotive electrical projects, including Tony Candela's "Automotive Wiring and Electrical Systems" and his follow-up book "Automotive Electrical Performance Projects". Candela's two books are truly superb. If you are new to automotive electrical projects I recommend starting with his first book (Electrical Systems) then read the book on Performance Projects. The two books together lead you through the simple theory you need to understand the practical application of actually installing the wiring. I'm still in the process of installing an aftermarket wiring harness, plus rewiring the battery/Alternator/Starter system and upgrading the ground system for the entire vehicle. The books helped me decide what kind of wiring to upgrade, the tools I needed, types of connectors, how to install headlight relays and numerous other factors. There are quite a few books out there that tell you about Ohm's law and other technical details about automotive electrical systems. These two books show you "what to do" with detailed photos and diagrams that can be understand by your average backyard mechanic. Whether you need a simple courtesy light upgrade or a complete wiring harness install, there's information here that will help get the job done.

I liked the book, read it cover to cover, but found the writing style far more personal than technical, which is ok to a degree but I still wonder if the technical areas I need(ed) help with were covered enough. Regardless, I think the book is a good solid primer to the basics and I am sure it will help me with wiring my project.One really strong recommendation: the areas about trouble-shooting are excellent, so if you're looking for a good reference book on diagnosing automotive electrical issues I think you'll find this book exceptionally helpful.

If you're reading this sometime between 2017-2020, you should probably complete this test as a timed test a week or two before Test Day.This exam is not yet published in a book of 10, so it's pretty expensive....BUT IT'S WORTH IT. A small investment of about 10 bucks can pay off big time for your law school future (and potential scholarship $$$).Once LSAC publishes this in a book of 10 exams (which they'll probably do after publishing PT81 after the June 2017 LSAT), don't get all these individual exams. That'd be a big waste of money. It'll be a MUCH better deal to get the book of 10 containing 72-81.Other books of 10 you should probably get (72-80 are only available individually right now):62-7152-61Also, you should know that LSAT exams 66-present are *the only* ones that give you 2 pages for Logic Games. Before 66, each test only gave you one page for each Logic Game and related questions. Now, they give you two. Pretty cool, right?Happy studying! Much better bang for your buck. Also it can be annoying when dealing with Kindle. Slow to start up, crashes more frequently than I would like, and it's definitely a different interface than what you will see on the actual test. Great for getting started while waiting for the physical books to arrive, but for a more accurate experience get those books.

this practice test is great if you have issues with timing yourself. For me I always buy prep books and don't even read through the whole thing, but this test booklet just cuts out the bs. It's important to time yourself while using this, it helps when taking the actual exam. Makes great practice!

I'm currently studying nonstop for the lsat - this is legit test forms from years past and is the best prep you can do. Totally worth the money. Invaluable practice!

When that kindle edition was on sale, I ordered that print replica version instead of regular kindle edition (mobi). I had a PDF-version copy for a while but they altered my digital order with kindle edition instead without my knowledge. Later kindle app automatically re-downloaded it from cloud storage. I ended up mobi version instead that it does not allow me to zoom anymore. However, Elsevier store website still offers PDF version for both editions of that book. That's why I prefer PDF version over MOBI version and I will order PDF version for both books (1st and 2nd editions) soon. Rated 1 star.Also I have print book and reviewed book. That is very good information for ray-tracing programming but it is not for beginners. It requires knowledge of Calculus and Linear Algebra. I researched about that and found some interesting articles like realistic camera lens that uses complex mathematics to render everything as if real camera take photos. I am so impressed. Some day I will learn how to write a program to simulate real camera lens. Rated 5 stars.Overall ratings: 3 stars.

I think seems be a very thorough discussion of PBR within the context of raytracing. If you are going to be working with real time rendering, you might be better off looking elsewhere. The math is quite advanced and assumes a lot of prior knowledge (a lot of it is above my head). This is definitely a graduate level text book.

ok, I should not repeat what people already said about the first edition - this book is definitely great, outstanding, and it covers both theory and implementation indeedI also will not repeat what you can find in th preface - thanks to editor you can preview the book and find what it is about and how it differs from the first edition. The preview also contains three chapters, it is more than enough to give you an understanding what kind of book is it. So, please, no this "I whant to render nice pictures, and this book is full of formulas and program code" comments.No CDs included, because the renderer source code is available on the book web site (mentioned in the introductory chapter)I just whant to add something to "About the Authors" because things about them changed more than a little bit, and because you could not find this information here.(from the back-cover)Matt Pharr co-founded both Exluna (acquired by NVIDIA) and Neoptica (acquired by Intel), and has also worked in Pixar's Rendering R&D group.Greg Humphreys is the software lead for the OptiX ray tracing engine at NVIDIA [OptiX is GPU-accelerated rt toolkit, you can find it on NVIDIA developer site - V.I.]So, as you can see, the authors are trustworthy, at least in this area :).

So far the content seems good but the kindle edition suffers greatly. All of the page number cross referencing is broken and there's absolutely no way to figure out which location in the kindle edition corresponds to which page in the print book.

This is not a comment about the book contents but simply a big warning for the digital format. Almost all equations were simply images scanned from the books. And reference links or cited pages were either wrong or dead. Why the hell there's a kindle version anyway? And such bad qualities and useless print still costs 58 USD, hard-cover is only 5 bucks more. I know I'm stupid, but please stop scamming money out of nerds.

A must have book. Fullstop. The kindle version is so-so, poor rendering (...) of the equation.

It is a decent book, but I don't particularly like the style. The code is a major feature of the book, but I don't think it adds much beyond the information provided in the prose. I also found the code to be too fragmented into tiny snippets with tons of references between snippets. The authors assume that snippets no longer than 7 lines helps understanding, but I find that scattering a logically contiguous piece of code across a chapter makes it harder to understand.

Very complete book, covers all major aspects of the subject. Although I was expecting to have more "real-time oriented" matter.

I loved In the Line of Ire, Lexi Graves #13, as I have loved every book that that Camilla Chafer has written. I love that Lexi is maturing realistically, but I also enjoy when she still gets into hilarious messes that balance the serious situations she often faces in her work. Her sparkle, wit, zaniness, and her very special family all contribute the draws that pulls me into her world every time.It is seldom that Lexi’s expertise outshines Solomon’s, but when it comes to accessories, she is the queen. A post honeymoon gift sends Lexi to the mall, but it sure isn’t for fun. Someone sold her amazing new husband and not so new boss a knockoff designer handbag, and Serena buys a purse to celebrate a success only to discover it has been switched for a fake, too. The mall manager hires the Solomon Detective agency to get to the bottom of the problem before words spreads. When they look for cheap bags that have been switch for the expensive originals, they find that it is not only handbags that have been knocked off.The FBI is drawn into the case and our old, and really hot, friend Maddox ends up working with Lexi. I had to laugh at his behind the scenes flirting that left her totally flummoxed, which was of course, his intention. On a more serious note, the newly-wed detective is still having trouble dealing with the trauma from the shooting, but in true Lexi fashion, she tries to play it off and refuses to give in. Book thirteen is sure not bad luck for author Camilla Chafer, this novel is as good as any in the series.I received an ARC of the novel from the author and my ebook purchase landed on my ereader last night!

I love all of Camilla Chafer's books, but the Lexi Graves series are my favorite. You feel like you know all of Lexi's friends and relatives. They are always funny and interesting. This time Lexi has 3 mysteries to solve, a serious murder, a creepy stalker, and a cute video taken of her in an embarrassing situation. (Loved the solution to that one especially.) I can't wait for the next one!

As usual, this series is fantastic. Lexi and Solomon solve interesting mysteries and the family dinners are hysterical. Love all the characters! Definitely worth reading!

Lexi is back and I always look forward to what she is going to get into next. This time, it’s in her wheelhouse with fake designer bags. She goes undercover to catch the ring and deals with her crazy family along the way. It was fabulous!

In the Line of Ire, we get Lexi and Solomon working to solve 2 cases....loved it! Love everything about Lexi Graves Mysteries, this series is a series you hope will continue forever. Can't wait to see what Lexi get into next.

I love this series, the people are like family, Sam is so funny, Lexie's mom is a hoot. I can't wait for the next book. The mystery it's self is always surprising. Thanks Camilla

It just seemed natural that the next step would be to become a doctor and make it her business to counsel patients in nutrition. Dr. Farlow is a Doctor of Chiropractic with a specialty in Nutrition. This little book packs a little punch - and more importantly, doesn't pull too many regarding Genetically Modified Foods. But I agree with the one and three star reviewers that we need something a bit more up to date; and I would add, something more in-depth. For instance, much has changed since 2007 and there are now plenty of conclusive studies showing the toxins and dangers of eating GM foods, which isn't mentioned in this book. Hopefully, if there is another edition the author will include more specific health dangers directly associated with GMO's. GM corn for instance has been found to have male sterility properties (and fertility rates have indeed suffered dramatically since the introduction of GM foods). The author states it is estimated that about 70% all US commercially grown corn is GM. That was in 2007. That number has grown to nearly 100% in 2012. The author's short list of GM foods also needs to be expanded to include, among others, more information on farmed raised salmon, GE hormone rBGH/rBST injected into cows that are also fed GM grains and hay, and the most recent genetic modification in the midst of winning full Congressional approval is genetically modified salmon that reach monstrous sizes in extremely short growing periods. This is thought to be the precursor to genetically modified farm animals - all intended to increase production and profit at great cost to the health of the consumer.A daunting task by any measure, the author has classified over 1000 commonly used food additives according to safety, whether they may cause allergic reactions, and if they are Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) by the FDA. But contrary to popular belief, the FDA is not our friend. To use the FDA guidelines in determining what is safe and what is toxic is as risky as nourishing yourself according to the RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance). An unfortunate follower of such guidelines will more often than not face unnecessary suffering and untimely death through disease and malnourishment. Another shortcoming of this book is it only shows carcinogenic (cancer) dangers associated with substances based solely on IARC (the International Agency for Research on Cancer). This is a start, but there are many other well-founded and accepted studies showing great danger and toxicity in MANY of the additives for which the IARC has given a free pass. No additional studies or recommendations are included in this book.I purchased 5 of these books to give as gifts to my grown sons. It was probably a waste of money as this really isn't much of a shopping guide as some of the reviews have stated. It's a good start - and the list is impressively extensive - but there is much more information known on the toxic side effects of many of these chemicals that has been largely ignored here. A plus for this book is that it includes the labeling guide for fresh produce. Just about every piece of fruit has a little PLU (product look-up) sticker on it: 4 digits is conventionally grown; 5 digits starting with an 8 is Genetically Modified; and 5 digits starting with a 9 is organic. I once read a little rhyme that helped me remember this: "4 is a bore, 8 I hate, 9 is mine!" The author's warning to pay attention to theses stickers is good advice, as she points out food can get moved around or mis-advertised. (E.G. Signage advertised as organic when in fact the sticker might say otherwise.)I forgot to mention I purchased a copy of this little book for myself that I use for quick reference; but that is all it is - a quick reference and a jumping-off point at a nice price. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find anything better on the market today. While this book can serve as a handy little starting point, for more information (especially if you are suffering from disease, or raising children, or just interested in optimizing your health and preventing disease down the road) I recommend checking out Gary Null's books and videos and subscribing to Dr. Mercola's twice weekly emails. Although I am not a big fan of all the Mercola products or some outside products that he also endorses on his site, his team of researchers are top notch and his extensive library of articles is worth researching. There are many great resources out there for an over-all education on healthy eating. Pick up the "freebies" - those free health publications usually available at your local health food Store. My favorite periodical is "Well Being Journal". it's not free, and it's not a slick, full color, magazine, but it will definitely keep you up to date on the latest and greatest in the healthy-living world.Here's the 'skinny'('what I've learned in 30 years of research')- avoid all prepared foods, along with sugar, excessive use of salt (use Himalayan or Celtic if you can), and eat only freshly prepared, organic meals, and you won't really need this book much. Avoiding foods cooked or baked at high temperatures and drinking only clean spring or well water, or reverse osmosis filtered water that has been fortified with some minerals, is the icing on the cake. If you're really committed you might even consider researching raw foods (full throttle or modified) as a way to go. Find your own path; no one has all the answers that will work for everyone. Educate yourself constantly on the ever-unfolding information available to us and try not to depend on just one book. But where "additives" are concerned, if you want to start somewhere, until something better comes along, I guess here is as good as anywhere.

For starters, when I use this book as a reference, 100% of the "All-natural", 'Organic' foods that claim "NO MSG" did in fact have it! It is my understanding that according to the FDA, if a food product contains 98% of MSG or less, they can claim that it has 'NO MSG'. There are many sources to find out the many forms of it, and this book lists those that I've found. And why it can occur naturally through various processing methods, it is what it is. Absolutely amazing.The guide fits in a back pocket or purse and is an invaluable resource. I would even suggest having one in your kitchen and a second copy in your car (or scooter). I'm sure some other source SOMEWHERE has similar information, but I haven't found a resource that cross references itself in a basic format, with terse language (exactly what you need when shopping).The sad part about this though is that I ONLY purchase 'whole', 'organic', 'healthier' snacks, and ALL the chips and cookies fail her additives test, quite poorly actually. Lesson learned: If I want high-quality goodies without fillers, seems like I'm gonna have to make 'em myself!!!

Although my edition is the original one, I highly recommend this little book. Anyone who takes the responsibility of buying food for him/herself and/or others should have this book as a guide. It gives the bottom line of what many of the common chemicals that are used in the processing of our foods do to our bodies. You don't have to be a phD to understand what's spelled out so well in this pocket size book, you only have to have the courage to follow its inherent message and be well on your way to being healthy again.

Had I known about this book earlier, I would have made more responsible choices. In reality, I've switched to organic food and I chosen several alternatives that are much better for me. I refer to this book and share my findings with my friends and family. The book is easy to understand and the author has codes to determine what is generally recognized as safe, and additives with an X signifies that it is unsafe. Makes you wonder who is paying off the FDA. I'm just sayin'.

I keep a copy in my glove box in my car to grab when I go to the grocery store. I think that everyone who eats, needs to know the dangers of food additives--they're in virtually everything we eat! Dump the white stuff and the raped wheat stuff. As a base I use chappati flour as my base. I put coconut flour, oat, then I cook with coconut oil.Don't eat it, don't buy it, don't encourage them. Do it yourself or find a farmer.I would wash my vegetables with baking soda to ensure that Fukushima dropping as washed off your veggies especially if they are from the west coast.
